Chilexpress is a leading logistics and courier solutions company in Chile, known for providing efficient transportation and logistics services that support businesses and consumers nationwide. With a special focus on supporting e-commerce growth, Chilexpress manages a robust technological infrastructure to ensure the continuity and quality of its operations.

However, the costs associated with the existing infrastructure on Azure had become a significant challenge. The lack of optimized management and clear visibility over high-consumption resources limited the company’s ability to allocate budgets efficiently and identify potential savings areas.

In this context, Chilexpress turned to DirMOD for a strategic assessment focused on cost optimization, improving resource utilization, and ensuring a sustainable and efficient infrastructure for the future.

As part of the project, DirMOD leveraged Microsoft Azure capabilities to conduct a thorough analysis of Chilexpress’s infrastructure.

This process included identifying and tagging the resources that were consuming the most within the platform, highlighting services like Networking and Azure Monitor, which were driving up the unoptimized monthly costs. Additionally, tools for more effective financial management were implemented, such as creating budgets for the resource groups with the most significant impact on expenses, along with alerts to monitor and anticipate consumption variations. Cost anomaly alerts were also introduced to detect abrupt changes in service usage, enabling timely responses. In terms of infrastructure, alternatives to optimize networks were analyzed, such as using Azure WLAN instead of VPN Gateways, and unused resources, such as public IPs that were adding unnecessary complexity to the technological environment, were removed.

Thanks to DirMOD’s specialized approach in infrastructure optimization and cloud cost management, Chilexpress now operates in a more efficient and controlled technological environment. This case highlights the importance of strategic cloud management as a driver for operational and financial success.
