Modernization of the Stock Replenishment Regime with RepoStock
The Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, aims to promote the competitiveness of Argentine production and exports. One of its key initiatives is the RepoStock project, which seeks to digitize the Stock Replenishment Regime, a system that allows the temporary importation of raw materials for improvement and subsequent export, providing fiscal benefits to registered companies.
The main challenge VUCE faced was modernizing a system that relied heavily on paper-based processes, which limited the agility of operations and made it difficult for more than 5,000 companies to access the regime. With the need to optimize processing times and improve the user and administrator experience, VUCE turned to DirMOD.
DirMOD, in collaboration with AWS, designed and implemented a serverless-based solution. This solution not only digitized the process but also facilitated interoperability between VUCE’s internal platforms and optimized data management.

DirMOD leveraged the flexibility and scalability of AWS services to implement the necessary infrastructure for RepoStock.
For efficient frontend content distribution, Amazon CloudFront was used, ensuring low latency. Files uploaded by companies were securely and scalably stored in Amazon S3. To protect the system from common web attacks, AWS WAF was implemented. System integration management was facilitated using Amazon API Gateway, which enabled the creation of RESTful APIs. For authentication and access management between APIs, Amazon Cognito was used. Business logic and APIs were implemented serverlessly using AWS Lambda, contributing to operational efficiency. The relational data management system, including the product-input matrix, was based on Amazon RDS, while Amazon DynamoDB was used to store NoSQL data necessary for integrations and auditing. Workflow orchestration for data ingestion and transformation was managed with AWS Step Functions, while Amazon CloudWatch enabled monitoring and the generation of dashboards for key metrics.
This serverless architecture not only guarantees scalability and security but also optimizes operational costs through a usage-based billing model.
Results and Achieved Objectives:
RepoStock marked a turning point in the management of the Stock Replenishment Regime, achieving a number of key objectives:
- Total Digitization: The complete elimination of paper-based processes, creating a 100% digital system.
- Access to Fiscal Benefits: Over 5,000 companies can now easily and quickly access fiscal benefits.
- Interoperability: Smooth integration with other VUCE internal platforms significantly improved data management.
- Agility in Exports: Process optimization reduced response times, enhancing competitiveness in the international market.
- Sustainability: Significant reduction in paper usage, adopting modern technologies that support sustainability.
- Resource Optimization: The implementation of a serverless solution enabled more efficient use of resources, improving overall operations.
RepoStock is a clear example of how technology can transform traditional processes, turning them into modern, scalable, and efficient solutions that benefit businesses and the national economy.
